4/9/2024 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: JaCaeri struggled once again to control his anger and aggression as he self reported he was involved in a physical altercation 1xâs with moderate intensity during a 30 second incident with a peer on the school bus today on the way home. Behavior: JaCaeri then reported he tried to avoid the peer and keep his mouth shut but the peer jumped over the seat in front of him and tried to punch him. He reported it was then that he grabbed the peer and started punching him probably 5-6xâs with moderate intensity during the 30 second incident. Intervention: QMHP-C probed JaCaeri as to his agitated mind state upon QMHP-Câs arrival to the home. QMHP-C then encouraged JaCaeri to use the âcount to tenâ technique to calm his breathing down and reduce the time length of frustration that he is currently experiencing. QMHP-C then prompted JaCaeri to speak about what happened on the school bus openly without raising his voice or displaying anger and aggression as he spoke of the incident. Intervention: QMHP-C then modeled and taught JaCaeri the âACTâ technique to use in the future when he canât seem to control his emotions when angered or threatened. QMHP-C then verbally praised JaCaeri for using the techniques encouraged by QMHP-C during session. Response: JaCaeri seemed receptive to todayâs counseling as he verbalized understanding of session. JaCaeri reported he did not want to fight today and tried his best to avoid the confrontation, but when the peer jumped over the seat in front of him and tried to punch him he had no choice but to defend himself in a physically aggressive manner. JaCaeri stated other peers tried to stop him but once he gets mad there is nothing anyone can do to stop him from doing what he wants to do. He then reported he could not allow the peer to intimidate him or make him look bad on the school bus and that is why he acted in the aggressive manner that he did. Response: JaCaeri reported he does like to use the âACTâ technique that was taught to him during previous counseling sessions and that it was one of his favorite tactics to use when I angered, however he stated today was not the day that he had time to think out his actions before being forced to defend himself.
